Each one usually means another account, another API key and another monthly plan.

The Agent Extraction API (https://freetier-agent-api.pages.dev) tries a different model. It has 46 small tools behind plain HTTP GET routes and one MCP endpoint (
/mcp
), with no account and no API key.

How paying works

One free call per tool per caller. That's enough to see whether the output is useful.

After that, the route answers HTTP 402 Payment Required with the price. An x402 client (USDC on Base) signs and retries automatically.

No wallet? Prepaid card credits work through an
X-License-Key
header.

Failed calls (upstream down, bad input) are not charged and don't use up the free call.

Prices are set at about half the median price of comparable x402 listings. Today's medians and our prices are documented per tool. Examples: DNS $0.0025, feed-json $0.0025, sitemap $0.003, qr-code $0.0015.

New this week: three utility tools

feed-json. Give it an RSS 2.0/1.0, Atom or JSON Feed URL, or just a site's homepage (it finds the
<link rel="alternate">
feed). It returns clean JSON items with title, link, ISO dates, author, summary, enclosures (podcasts) and images. It can filter with
since=
.

GET /api/feed-json?url=blog.cloudflare.com&since=2026-10-01

sitemap. Give it a sitemap URL or just a domain. It reads
Sitemap:
lines from robots.txt and walks sitemap indexes (newest first), gzip and text sitemaps. It returns URLs with lastmod, plus hreflang alternates and news titles where present, with
contains=
and
since=
filters.

GET /api/sitemap?url=theguardian.com&since=2026-10-26

qr-code. Text, URLs, payment URIs or Wi-Fi logins become a QR code as inline SVG, an SVG data URI or a GIF data URI. It supports error correction L/M/Q/H, colours, margin and an optional 0/1 matrix. Everything is computed locally and nothing is stored.

GET /api/qr-code?ssid=Guest&password=welcome123

The other tools cover invoice/receipt to JSON, page to markdown and RAG chunks, site contacts, DNS with SPF/DMARC checks, RDAP whois, SSL certificate expiry, geocoding (OpenStreetMap), token, ENS and wallet lookups, and LLM price data.

Using it from an agent

Copy-paste setup for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and generic x402 clients is at https://freetier-agent-api.pages.dev/recipes. The MCP server is
https://freetier-agent-api.pages.dev/mcp
. It's also listed in the official MCP Registry and in x402 directories (x402scan, 402index, x402dash).

Honest status

This is a small indie project on Cloudflare's free plan, using public upstreams (Cloudflare DoH, IANA RDAP, Nominatim and the sites you point it at). It's new and has very little traffic so far. Feedback on what tools agents actually need is very welcome.
